TEAMEnergy saved is energy produced. Process plants producing cement, minerals, fertilizers, paper, sugar, chemical, refineries and petrochemicals etc. consume huge amounts of energy. It is not uncommon to find single equipment consuming 5000 kW of electrical power or 1000 Mcal/h of thermal power in such plants. A small percentage saving in energy consumed can result in substantial annual savings. For instance, implementation of our Total Energy Audit and Management (TEAM) software in one cement plant alone resulted in annual savings of 15 million units of electrical energy (15 million kWh). We were the first in the country to identify way back in 1987 that energy audit is of little use as a one-off exercise, and day-to-day energy audit using a software is what is necessary to achieve real energy savings. TEAM is a comprehensive software developed for the purpose which helps in identifying specific areas of energy wastage for focused action, equipments under-utilised or over-loaded, besides maintaining a full record of production, running hours and energy consumption of the plant. The software also meets the full MIS requirements of the plant. The complete plant comes into this software. A technical report entitled "TEAM for Total Energy Audit and Management" has been prepared by us which outlines the underlying concepts, methodologies and software design. This report is available for a price.
